Home on The Range
Each of the four capacious bedrooms in the main bungalow, offers twin four-poster beds, clean towels and bedsheets, a work desk and comfy chair while large glass windows flaunt alluring outdoor views. The bathrooms are a vision of jungle green with gigantic wood framed mirrors hovering above the live edge timber washbasin counters, and curving half walls that embrace the wet area. The four bedrooms that lead further to the dining, kitchen and lounge form the main bungalow area. Pets are not allowed in this area.
~Studebaker ~
The adjoining car shed, once reserved for Diwan Bahadur’s Studebaker, has been renovated into a two room annexe. The Studebaker was my great grandfather’s prized possession and the vintage car is still alive and well looked after in Coorg!
Today, the two spacious Studebaker Cottages carry forward that legacy with quiet grace. Thoughtfully restored, they offer a harmonious blend of old-world charm and modern comforts, creating a serene and intimate retreat steeped in family history.
The two cottages are fronted by a verandah lined with framed photos and illustrations educating visitors about the unique culture, flora and fauna of Coorg besides interesting nuggets on the sacred Talakaveri, thookbolcha (traditional lamp) and Kodava dances. Traditional cane baskets of various shapes woven by local artisans add to the decor.
There’s an exclusive bonfire circle outside the house and a covered bar lounge & grill. The altitude blesses it with hill station like weather. It is always cool and gets nippy during the thunderous monsoon downpour and the chill of winter, engulfing the place in mist every morning. The view is shrouded in mist that clears just as suddenly to reveal dark clumps of trees in the valley, mountains in the horizon and a view of Mercara (Madikeri) on a clear day! At night, Mercara’s distant lights twinkle like fireflies! Summers are a breeze. The custom burnt Mangalore roof tiles keep the place cool in summers and warm during winters. Check-in is anytime after 11 am and there’s ample parking on the premises.
Tariff
We charge Rs. 7500/- per person [Adult], per day. It includes - breakfast, evening tea with snacks, a bonfire BBQ and dinner.
Children - 8-12yrs Rs.2500/- | 12-17yrs Rs.4000/-
During the December to January year-end period, the rate is Rs. 20,000/- per person. { Single / Double occupancy }
Please Note : Single occupancy is charged at Rs. 15,000/- per person from February - November.

Management has the right to cancel reservations without notice or reason. Refunds will be based on the cancellation policy.
Cancellation Policy :
Less than 15 days (from scheduled check-in date) No refund on the booking amount.
15 - 30 days (from scheduled check-in date) 50% refund of the booking amount.
30 days or earlier (from scheduled check-in date) Full refund of the booking amount.

Little Guests, Old Things
Children are very welcome here, and we love watching them discover the place — the stream at the bottom of the hill, the stags on our signboard, the old fridge from 1934 that once ran on kerosene.
While Indoors, we ask for a little care. The bungalow holds things four generations have kept safe:
my great grandfather's collectibles, the fine china and silverware, photographs, clocks and curios. Almost none of it can be replaced. So we ask that what is on display be admired with the eyes rather than the hands, and that little ones — especially the fast-moving ones — stay within easy reach of a parent or guardian throughout the stay.
Do ask us about any of it. Every piece has a story, and we would far rather tell you the story than mend the piece.
Steps & Slopes
The bungalow sits on a ridge, and the estate is best met on foot — there are steps between the levels, sloping paths, and ground that turns uneven in the rains. Guests who are steady on their feet enjoy it enormously, at any age; some of our happiest visitors have been our oldest. We should be honest about the house itself, though: it is a family home in the hills rather than a resort with medical facilities, and the nearest hospital is about forty minutes away at Napoklu. We aren't able to provide nursing or personal care. If someone travelling with you needs that kind of help, we ask that they come with a companion who can give it, and bring any medication or equipment they may need.
Do tell us before you book if you have any concerns — we would much rather help you plan than have you arrive somewhere that doesn't suit.
